Spring 2007 Registration for the Founders Study Center is now open!

Here are the courses we will be offering. . .

Systematic Theology II with audio lectures by Dr. Roger Nicole

This is the second in a series of four planned courses on Systematic Theology. The first course covered the Place of Systematic Theology, Divine Revelation and the Authority of Holy Scripture. Topics in this second course include: Doctrine of God, Creation and Providence, the Doctrine of Man and Sin. Students can take the Systematic Theology courses in any order. It is not necessary to take Systematic I before taking Systematic II. Dr. Roger Nicole is a retired professor of theology emeritus at both Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminiary in Orlando, Florida. He is also a past president of the Evangelical Theological Society and a founding member of the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy.

This course meets for 16 sessions. Students will have access to course material online until June 22, 2007 (20 weeks to complete the course). Cost: $75 (A $25 discount is provided for subscribers of the Founders Journal)

Theology of the Reformers with audio lectures by Dr. Timothy George

Study the theology of St. Augustine, Calvin, Luther, Zwingli and other men who helped bring about the Reformation. Dr. Timothy George is the founding Dean and Professor of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama.

This course meets for 16 sessions. Students will have access to course material online until June 22, 2007 (20 weeks to complete the course). Cost: $75 (A $25 discount is provided for subscribers of the Founders Journal)

Maintaining a Healthy Church with audio lectures by Dr. Mark Dever

Learn about God’s purpose for the church and how to lead a church in a direction that will keep it healthy and thriving. Dr. Mark Dever serves as senior pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C.

This course meets for 10 sessions and will begin on March 19, 2007. Students will have access to course material online until June 22, 2007 (14 weeks to complete the course). Cost: $50 (A $15 discount is provided for subscribers of the Founders Journal)

Preaching and Preachers with audio lectures by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Hear one of the greatest preachers of the twentieth century share his vision of preaching.

This course meets for 16 sessions. Students will have access to course material online until June 22, 2007 (20 weeks to complete the course). Cost: $75 (A $25 discount is provided for subscribers of the Founders Journal)

Spring orientation and course previews for students and mentors will open January 22, 2007; 16-week courses begin on February 5, 2007. Cut off for registration for Spring 16-week courses will be February 23, 2007.

The 25th Annual Southern Baptist Founders Conference

June 26 – 29, 2007
At Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso, OK

This will be the 25th Anniversary of the Conference. The Theme will be “God’s Truth Abideth Still: Confronting Post-Modernism” with keynote speaker Dr. David Wells. Conference website coming soon.


New South Florida Founders Fraternal:

Grace Baptist Church of Cape Coral Florida (204 SW 11th Place) will host the first South Florida Founders Fraternal on Monday, January 15, 2007, beginning at 10:00 AM. Dr. Tom Nettles, Professor of Historical Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky will be our guest speaker. He will address the theme, “Baptists and Reformation in the 21st Century.” Dr. Nettles will speak for 45 minutes, then there will be opportunity for dialogue with him for about 45 minutes. If you are in the South Florida area, please consider joining us! If you know of men in the area who would be interested in joining us, please help us spread the word.

Church Leaders Conference in Singapore

A Church Leaders’ Conference (CLC) in Singapore will be hosted by the Shalom Church April 10-12, 2007. The main speaker is Stuart Olyott who will be preaching on Preaching! This annual conference is primarily targeted at leaders who hold offices in the church as well as those who are in leadership positions in Christian organizations or seminaries.

The aims of the CLC are essentially twofold: 1) to equip the leaders to rightly handle the Word that glories God and edifies the saints and 2) to call the leaders to the rich doctrine of grace that is sufficient to deal with any pastoral matters of the church life. Into its 4th year running, this conference has had speakers such as Richard Belcher, Martin Holdt, and Conrad Mbewe. To register or for more details contact the Shalom Church.
