The Founders Fraternal of Southwest Oklahoma met for a fraternal luncheon on October 3, 2000 at Gatlin Baptist Church, Marlow, Oklahoma. Seven men were present. After lunch, Pastor Phil Newton of South Woods Baptist Church, Memphis, Tennessee, spoke to us on the arresting issue of “Pragmatism Infiltrating the Church”. A time for questions and answers followed and was extremely profitable, as Pastor Phil again demonstrated his wealth of understanding of practical issues facing the church today. The meeting was closed with a time of prayer for the revival and reformation of our churches. The next fraternal luncheon is scheduled to meet at Gatlin Baptist Church on Saturday, December 2, 2000 at noon. Although it is unusual for us to meet on a Saturday, we have the unique opportunity to have two great men of God visiting our area over the weekend. Speaking and available for roundtable discussion will be both Dr. Sam Cathey, noted Evangelist of Gainesville, Georgia, and Dr. Jimmy Millikin, Professor and Chair of Theology at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee.
