Description:
We are Christ Followers First and foremost we are Christ followers. We belong both body and soul both in life and death to the Lord Jesus Christ who is the head of the Church, His Bride. We are a IX Marks Church We hold to the 9 Marks of a true church which include Expositional Preaching, Biblical Theology, Biblical Understanding of the Good News, Biblical Understanding of Conversion, Biblical Understanding of Evangelism, Biblical Understanding of Membership, Biblical Church Discipline, Promotion of Discipleship and Growth, Biblical Understanding of Leadership. (more)… We are Southern Baptist We are Southern Baptist because we hold to the doctrines of believers baptism, regenerate church membership and the autonomy of the local church. These are Baptist distinctives that are core to being a Christian that is a Southern Baptist. We are a Founders Friendly Church We believe in and hold to the same doctrinal truths as the men who founded the Southern Baptist Convention. We therefore support and are a Founders Friendly Church. Whereas all Southern Baptists need to know and understand their heritage, and whereas we live in an age of history being rewritten in all forms, it is important for us to learn and commit ourselves to the truths that our forefathers established, in order to keep the group we are associated with(Southern Baptist Convention) on the narrow road that leads to life. (more)… We are Reformed We agree with and affirm all of the major doctrines from the reformation, including but not limited to Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone),Sola Gratia (by Grace alone), Sola Fide (through Faith alone), Solus Christus (because of Christ alone), Soli Deo Gloria (for the glory of God alone) (more)… We are Evangelical We agree with all historic, orthodox teachings of the faith and hold many asbrothers and sisters in Christ who belong to other denominations who cherish these same doctrines as we do (more)… We are Confessional We hold to Baptist Faith & Message of 2000 as a minimal standard of what we believe and we hold to the Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 as a more thorough and complete statement of what we believe to be True Bible Doctrine. We Are Great Commission Baptists Scripture says “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:19–20, ESV) Therefore, we are Great Commission Baptists in regards to our evangelism. We believe that every member of our church is a minister (Ephesians 4:12) and every minister is responsible to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe the purpose of our evangelism is to make disciples (not just randomly do evangelism for evangelism sake), baptize them in the name of the Triune God and then for them to join the local church and be taught the whole counsel of God (thus becoming disciple makers themselves).
