My oldest child, Sarah, is in Athens with 2 other members from our church for the next two weeks. Three years ago we sent one of our finest families to Athens to work with refugees (primarily from Central Asia) who travel to Athens in hopes of a better life. Vince and Judy have diligently served these underserved, often over-looked, members of Athenian society. Food, clothing, education and a place to shower and wash clothes are some of the practical needs that they and their team regularly meet.
In and through all of these ministries, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being faithfully taught. God has been pleased to grant them much fruit for their labors. People are coming to faith in Christ. Lives are being transformed. A church has been planted.
Sarah is journaling her experience. You can read about it on her cleverly named blog. If the Lord brings it to mind, pray for her, Charlotte and Judy P. as they give themselves the next two weeks in making Christ known to refugees in Athens.
